On The Move - RV Cooling

One of the best ways to ensure that your time spent in your RV or camper is comfortable and enjoyable is to have a source of fresh and cooled air from a RV Roof Mount Air Conditioner unit. Pacific RV offers the Turbokool Evaporative Air Cooler, which can be run on either solar power or from a 12-volt power supply. This unique and effective cooling system is designed to fit into standard 14in x 14in RV roof vents, and it is streamlined to offer minimal wind resistance.

Thanks to having a non-biological filter, the Turbokool Evaporative Air Cooler can turn dirty, dusty and debris filled hot air into a refreshing breeze without the issue of bacterial growth or an unpleasant smell. The RV Roof Mount Air Conditioner unit is highly efficient and is able to cool air by 20 to 30 degrees while only drawing on 4.6 amps of 12v power.

Individually adjustable louvers distribute the cool air where you direct it. The TurboKOOL variable speed, exceptionally quiet, air cooled reversible motor allows the TurboKOOL unit to also be used as an exhaust fan. This unit delivers up to 750 CFM of cool, clean air while only drawing 4.6 amps. For longer life, the motor is cooled by dry air. The non-organic industrial foam filter provides cooling and filtration without bacterial growth or foul odors. Spraying water over the entire surface of the filter ensures maximum COOLING and FILTERING efficiency. The bearings and motor are never exposed to moist air, and the TurboKOOL unit is maintenance FREE, with only one moving part.

The built-in, easy-to-clean reservoir can be filled automatically from your pressurized RV system, can be hand-filled from inside the vehicle, connected to a garden hose, or drawn from a stand-alone pressurized 3 gallon water supply tank, which is available from your local dealer or TurboKool.com.

Weighing just 16 lbs. and measuring 35in x 22in x 11.5in, TurboKOOL is compact and easy to install either by your RV dealer or the Do it Yourselfer with simple hand tools and our easy-to-follow instructions. There is a 12 month manufacturers warranty on all TurboKOOL parts. The unit performs best in a dry climate and is not recommended where the average relative humidity exceeds 75 percent. TurboKOOL can be adapted to nearly all Pickup Campers, Travel Trailers, Motorhomes, Dog & Horse Trailers, or any remote, stand-alone cooling requirement.

How It Works

Spin Spray Technology

The cooling is caused by evaporation. The warm dry outside air, with its low relative humidity, is pulled into the unit by the fan, while water is being sprayed, by our unique spin spray pump, on a cylindrical porous filter. As the dry air is forced through the wet filter by the fan, the water is evaporated, which cools the air coming out of the cooler. This cool air must be allowed to flow freely through the RV or facility being cooled and out through a window, door or vent. If the air is restricted the cooling will be less. The size of the RV or facility being cooled, how well it is insulated, exterior temperature and humidity are just some of the variable factors that can affect the cooling efficiency. Quiet simplicity at its best

5 of 5 It’s 104 outside and 78 inside July 16, 2022

Finally got around to installing my TurboKool. Of course I chose to do it during a heat wave. It is currently 104 outside and the cool air from the unit is around 78. That’s a pretty huge difference. It drawing slightly more than the roof fan that it replaced. Very happy.

The only real negative or improvement is with the water pan reservoir. It would be great if it was a little more splash resistant. I need to adjust my float valve as well, it’s over filling the pan.

Other than that, this is one of the simplest and efficient cooling designs I’ve ever seen.

We’ve been in 95-100° temps and this unit helps a lot. Not as cool as good ol ac, but this is so economical., it really performs in low humidity. The design is great and I’m sure will work for many years. Overall, I really like this unit.

The man and the machine are both equally awesome. Great product - great company. Beats a big power draining AC unit hands down.
