Good unit for our houseboat. August 29, 2019 Reviewer: Mark Hanawalt from Cottonwood, Az   Installed this unit on our houseboat at Lake Powell. Wanted something to cool the interior and could be run from our solar system instead of the generator. Turbokool has met those goals. We are cooling approx 350 sq ft and getting 8-10 degree cooler temp inside with 100 degrees outside. Definitely more comfortable inside. Can run the unit all night without depleting the battery bank. Turbokool 12 Volt Evaporative Swamp Air Cooler 2B August 5, 2019 Reviewer: jeff bruehl from agoura hills , CA United States   just installed it. i'm an appliance repair man. it was not difficult. i did mount it backwards at first. the unit slopes down on one end and i put the down slope forward. an arrow showing "forward" would have been nice. i used a galvanized steel strap to join the two main hold down bolt holes as they are non-reinforced plastic. the plastic is thick. it works. humidity gauge is 54%. It's 93 out at 2pm and the air output is 78 degrees. my rig is a 19 foot 5th wheel. very simple unit. clever integrated pump. i inadvertently hit reverse instead of off and blew a glass bulb 15 amp fuse. i will keep extra fuse. clever design and the water pan only holds 1/2 gallon. i can see how splash and spill can be kept to a low level. instructions good. variable speed for reverse too.
